At least I read the skill before bashing it like some people here.

Even making it like a res sig, its still just a screwed up mechanic that shouldn't be in the game (kinda like SF's damage immunity is).

Problem is, I don't understand how that is related to shadow form. I would like SOME of the name to make sense with the action involved at least.

Shadow form
Hex
For X...X seconds, target foe's attacks miss.

this way its the FOE who is in a shadow form, but it doesn't help of course.

*edit* noticed you wanted to give them a new skill and smiters boon SF, so I guess the name would fit.

But we don't need more skills, just fix what we have at the moment.

hmm i agree on that we already got a 1-hit-headshot skill in pve (ebon vanguard sniper support and there is a reason it only got X% chance to do its amazing damage and that is that a skill that insta kill a target shall not be reliable in use.

Rotwing would lose all his charm if you could 1-hit it!

So what if SF will be useless after the long-awaited nerf everyone is predicting? Doesn't mean it should instantly get replaced by an uber-skill. Considered that this skill might also get nerfed afterwards?

I understand the idea of replacing SF with a new skill and if it is going to get the Smiter's Boon treatment is a good idea, (although making a big assumption before it happens).

Firstly all skills have to be usuable in PvE and PvP, yes SF is nerfed in PvP but EXISTS, Assassinate would imbalance the number of elites, (Codex Arena for a start). If Assassinate was made weaker for PvP imagine spikes still, if it even did 1/4 of their health you would see teams spiking two players down at once, (both monks) and then take the rest out easy.

Other than that recharging on morale boost is a dumb idea for an elite as it makes it very rarely used and thus useless most of the time, and o/p in areas with lots of morale boosts, (some dungeons for instance). One person with assassinate would be ok, imagine teams of 8 all using it could take out a number of groups, (spike down backline kill rest off).

Biggest thing you forgot about though is arcane mimicry and echo, with echo it can be used twice but ok thats bearable, with arcane mimicry everyone could copy it and use it every 60 seconds, (I think thats the recharge of mimicry but not sure). 8 instant kills every 60 seconds, thats enough to do UWSC on its own now really, (ok requires a bit more co-ordination but still).

All in all I hope I have explained why you are getting all the negative comments, any skill that is o/p in SOME SITUATIONS will be adapted and abused. Any skill that has such huge limitations on it, (recharge on morale boost) will see no use except if it can be abused = skill which is ONLY abused.

This is the most retarded discussions ever. It's an awful idea and peopel can't even read it right,he's suggestions something that recharges almsot never and only kills one NON-BOSS/BOSS-LIKE foe,this is for an elite slot too.

Plus the coding wouldn't work.

I played MUDs for years which had Assassins and Assassinate. The only way to balance it was to have the percent chance of instant kill be extraordinarily low, the target had to be below an hp threshold and it had to be a surprise attack. MUDs are an order of magnitude less complex than GW is and GW has no form of aggro control (sneak, hide, invis, nondetect, etc.) that would make this even realistic. In short, it just wouldn't work. /notsigned
